What is POTS?

Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) is the original analog phone line system that has been used since the 1880s, it is a 100-year-old technology and is being phased out today!

The FCC's Forbearance Order

In 2019, the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) POTS Lines Forbearance Order 19-72A1 marked the end-of-life for traditional analog POTS line systems. Telecom providers like AT&T and Verizon have stated that they will start discontinuing service in some areas and the cost of an existing POTS Line is increasing rapidly. It doesn’t make sense to run the service over the old and aging copper infrastructure and pay more!

Embrace VoIP Technology

It is time to embrace the next-generation communication technology - Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), which enables you to make phone calls using your broadband/Wi-Fi/Cellular connection instead of landline service without replacing your terminal devices. Many successful cases and working experiences show us that VoIP technology will provide flexible, cost-effective, and reliable communication nowadays.
