Background:

Legacy elevator often require complicated connections and wiring, it use POTS lines to deliver a stable and reliable connection to the office or help center. The existing wiring is run from the machine room, through travel cable, into the elevator cab. Traditionally, the advantages of analog phone lines have been two-fold. First, you can maintain service when your power goes out. Second, 911 is able to easily identify where you are calling from.

Plain old telephone service line (POTS) is the original analog phone line system that have been used since the 1880s. In 2019, the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) POTS Lines Forbearance Order 19-72A1 has marked the end-of-life for traditional analog POTS line systems. Telecom providers like AT&T, Verizon has states that they will start discontinuing service in some areas, this finally led to the rising cost and longer maintenance time.

It is time to embrace the next generation communication technology - Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) with experienced manufacture. VoIP offer competitive pricing, flexibility, and advanced features that streamline your business communications. However, we still need to solve the inevitable challenges when removing POTS line: the operation after power outage, the stable connection and the high cost of replacing legacy device.

The PR08 can support 8 individual lines for elevator phone, by configuring the E911 information, each cab can be identified when the call is initiated.

If you want a more compact solution or you have control room on the top of the elevator, here’s what you’re looking for: All-in-One POTS replacement device - LM152.
