In the past, people are not only use PSTN for their telephone, but also use it to transfer different kinds of computer data. People use Modem to convert signal in digital format to signal in analog format so that they can be transferred through telephone lines.

Gas station used all kinds of meter to monitor different data like liquid level, pressure and temperature. Centre Office collect these data from telephone lines, they will know when their station needs gas supplement or maintenance.

Today, people are using broadband, FTTH, and 4G/5G rather than Modem to have their computer connected to the Internet, and PSTN lines is being phased out. The cost of PSTN lines is increasing due to various reasons like maintenance fee and lack of users, but there are still many devices that rely on Modem, and require for PSTN copper lines to transfer data.

It’s would be a huge project to replace them all, that’s why we need POTS replacement, keeping these legacy device work as usual, but move our step to the VoIP.

Solution Description

In traditional way, modem data from liquid level meter will transfer through landline and needs a modem to convert signal. By using the same structure, this solution deploy PR08 at both sides to guarantee correct transmission of modem data on IP network. With application server on the cloud rather than deploying at edge, this greatly increase the applicability and stability.
