New rescue mode with Flyingvoice FIP1X series IP phones firmware is coming! Get ready now for faster data recovery when the firmware upgrade failed in normal operation. With several improvements, it provides a better than ever user experience.
What is the rescue mode?
It provides a recovery when the firmware upgrade failed in normal operation, for example, the IP phone is power down when upgrading, it can help you recover your data and complete the firmware upgrade.
New functions:
1. Added more details on LCD display, like VLAN ID, WAN and LAN port IP address, upgrade notice.
2. Added ability to enter the web interface from LAN port with IP address (LAN supports DHCP, it will assign an IP address for computer connected LAN port)
3. Added ability to enter the web interface by turning on VLAN.
3. Added support for Provision and TR069, when Provision or TR069 upgrade failed, it can help you complete the firmware upgrade without interruptions.
Older versions:
There are only two ways to enter web interface to recover your data, that is, turning off VLAN and connecting to WAN port with IP address. The LCD display just shows the IP address. To note, the latest version of rescue mode is v0.0.9. The latest IP phone will have the latest version of rescue mode built-in, but if not, you will need to upgrade it manually.
For optimum performance, we highly recommend upgrading your rescue mode to the latest Version v0.0.9.
How to use rescue mode?
LCD Status Display
1. Upgrade firmware via web interface in normal way.
2. Unplug the power cable during the upgrade to trigger the rescue mode
3. Restart the IP phone and the LCD display are as follows:
(VLAN ID, WAN and LAN port IP address, upgrade notice).
Web
Firmware upgrade via web interface failed, recovery from rescue mode
1. Turn off or turn on VLAN to navigate to web interface.
2. Upgrade firmware via web interface in normal way.
3. Power down the IP phone to trigger the rescue mode.
4. Connect to either WAN or LAN port and type IP address to upgrade firmware.
5. When the IP phone has successfully upgraded the firmware, it can resume normal operation.
Firmware upgrade via Provision and TR069 failed, recovery from rescue mode
1. Connect to FACS or TR069 to upgrade the firmware.
2. Unplug power cable to trigger rescue mode.
3. The IP phone will continue to receive the URL of upgrade file.
4. When the IP phone has successfully upgraded the firmware, it can resume normal operation.
Note: the default setting of Provision is HTTPS, but you can set up your own HTTP, FTP or TFTP server.
