G801 Update—Flash Update and Default settings UpdateFAQ ID:12435
Flyingvoice G801 has two significant changes on G801 in September 2013, one is the Flash update, the other is the default settings of G801.
Flyingvoice G801 have updated the Flash from 8MB to 16MB in the new produced devices, since the limited 8MB flash has affected the development of G801, some functions need large flash can not be added, for example.
From 5th,Spetember, Flyingvoice R&D will only release new firmware for G801 with 16MB Flash, the new firmware can not perform on the previous G801 with 8MB flash, only can perform on the new produced device with 16MB Flash. Flyingvoice support team keep on providing technical support service on G801 with 8MB Flash.
Regarding to the secure management on G801, Flyingvoice team has also changed the default settings for G801.
By default, Remote web login is disabled, and user need use changed password to login the web from WAN port. That is to say, only with Remote web login enabled and the changed password, can the device be accessed from the WAN port. Only with admin login, can user enable web login. And default port for remote web login is 8080.
By default, Remote Telnet is disabled, and user need use changed password to telnet the device from WAN port. That is to say, only with Remote Telnet enabled and changed password, can the device be telneted. Only with admin login, can user enable telnet access. And only admin level user can access the device using telnet. Default telnet port is 23.
By default, Remote web login and Remote Telnet is managed separately. Web login and telnet access share the same password. G801 support 2-level user, admin and user, admin level user can set all the parameters on G801, and user level user can set a part of parameters.
By default, the Wireless network is configured, after connect the WAN port to Internet, user can use the wireless function of G801 directly. The default SSID is composed with Wireless_AP and the last 6 characters of LAN MAC, the security mode is WPA-PSK, and the default password is the last 8 characters of serial number.
By default, the default IP address of G801 LAN port is still 192.168.1.1, user can use default username and password to login the device, configure the device. The default IP mode of G801 WAN port is DHCP, please make sure there is DHCP server in your network, so that G801 can get an IP address.
